In our word quizzes we teach children the meaning of simple words via quiz questions and answers, hence increasing a child's vocabulary. There'a a mixture of easy and harder word questions which are free to use for teachers, parents and children. Quizzes can be a fun and fast way to increase your knowledge about a subject.

A word is a single distinct meaningful element of speech or writing. There are over 171,000 words in the Oxford English dictionary and Shakespeare himself amazingly invented 1,700 new words. Our questions include some well known words and also try to introduce some new ones. This maybe done by just asking the meanings of certain words, with the answers then following beneath - we'll get more imaginative with future questions. And there will be lots more quizzes added in the near future, so please call back. All our questions and answers are on the same page making them easy to follow. The online quizzes are also free and print friendly - only the questions and answers get printed, navigation bars and images do not get printed out, hence saving your valuable ink!

At the moment our word series includes three pages of 'do you know the meaning' of certain words, and are for younger children. We will be adding anagrams, word puzzles, spelling tests, punctuation quizzes, and a lot more to our future word quizzes. By the way, did you know that an anagram is a word play or word switch puzzle resulting from rearranging the letters of a word to produce a new word, using all the original letters exactly once - for example, baker is an anagram of break.
